Sent Jul 3, 2012 -- Cameroon/Montagnier update:

On Sunday I sent the second edition of the letter to President Biya that now includes 44 Laureates. Today I spoke to Jean Stephane Biatcha of Cameroon, who is executive director of the organization African Synergy Against AIDS and Suffering. He is very close to the President and delivered this second version personally this morning. He reports that President Biya is very concerned about the situation and is in discussions with his advisors to decide the best course of action going forward. In the meantime I continue to find additional ways to bring pressure to bear so that Luc Montagnier does not destroy the CIRCB nor have a negative influence on health care in Cameroon and ultimately in Africa. Bob Horvitz has approached the Gates Foundation and we hope to gauge their level of concern over the next few days. As soon as I hear of any actions in Cameroon I will let you know. I attach the copy of the letter was sent yesterday and I thank you for your support on this matter.
